Easter

Today was Easter, its a time to celebrate Jesus resurrection. His death and resurrection literally changed human history it changed BC to AD, and if we let it, it can change our lives for the better. God sent Jesus to take on the punishment me and you deserved, we deserved the cross and the beatings Jesus took that in our place. With Jesus we don’t have to fear tomorrow the Lord holds all our days in his hands He knows what is going to happen before we wake up. We have the greatest good news that people are looking for in todays culture, people are looking for something to fill the void in their life because they know deep down this life is not all there is.

Let us share the good news that Jesus came to give life to whoever will accept His gift of love and mercy, He is calling me and you to go wherever we go this week and share that news with those we come in contact.

SEX IS A GIFT STEWARD IT WELL

I have been thinking a lot lately about sex and sexuality God made me who I am to glorify Him. He made sex and intimacy in sex to point to Him and His love for us. As a single male living alone i have been struggling with things because i know i was made for connection, even in singleness i can look to Jesus and thank Him for my desires and ask Him to help me steward those desires in healthy ways. If I am honest I have not stewarded those well at all I have looked at stuff i shouldnt look at, and its hurt my relationship with God. I am bound and determined to not let it destroy me, I want to honor God with all that I am. Lets all steward our bodies well for they are not our own.

Call Evil What It Is and Stand up for what you believe in

I want to ask a question that is coming up in middle school group tonight. Why is it important to call evil what it is, and why is it important to know what you believe in. I believe its good to call evil what it is which is evil because if your not willling to call it exactly what is you might be willing to compromise yourself and others for the sake of evil, which comes at a high cost, God doesnt want us following evil we are not to walk in darkness we are called to walk in light if we are Christians, will it always be easy no there will be times we stumble, but that is when we get back up and let God lead us. We should always let God lead us.

Now Why is it important to know what you stand for or against? Its important to know what you stand for because at some point in your life walking with Christ someone is bound to ask something like this: so why do you believe in Christ and why are you so passionate about Him and his Word, if you cant answer what you believe then you could possibly be willing to fold your values and convictions and beliefs in God. God gives us a church to walk with and community to walk through life with so i encourage each and everyone of you to be open if you have questions find a church or a leader that you know and ask away we are all walking through life together following Christ together.

Bigger Than I Thought

There is a great CCM song by the same name as this blog by Sean Curran, this song talks about how God is so much bigger than we with our small minds can comprehend he understands us, He loves us. I can oftentimes forget that I get so wrapped up in myself that I don’t see God I basically put Him in a box. God was never meant to be put in a box He created me and you. So we should trust Him with our lives everyday. He is so much bigger than what I think, I look around and see the mountains, ocean, stars, moon, sun and say there is a creator. He created me and He did something i couldnt do but that i deserve He went to Calvarys cross and got nails in His hands and feets, and bore the penalty for my sins that i deserve. He then was buried and rose again defeating death, hell, and the grave, I believe He will return again one day soon to make all things right, in the meantime we as christians are called to go out and share the good news with those we encounter everyday.

 So lets remember God is so much bigger than what we think or feel. He has us in his hands even when the world seems to be crashing down around us He is with us every step of the way. Lets not limit what God can do with any of us.

Life

Life can sometimes smack you in the face with reality, the past week has been a struggle in many ways, but one thing the Lord has started showing me is i have no self-control which is not good, and its no fun to see it up close and personal than with my finances. As the Proverbs says A man without self-control is like a city without walls being broken into. If i let anything into my life or mind then its not going to be good, we each have to learn to take each thought captive and honestly thats something i probably haven’t done a good job of since my teens and I am 33 now. its hard to rewire the brain to do the right thing, but with God I believe He will help me see victory in areas that until recently i haven’t been trying to find victory in. Its a long hard road that begins with being honest with myself and with those I have hurt before which is never easy its like pulling off a band-aid and digging into the scab.

 It requires letting people see the fine china in my life that is all cracked and busted up. Through all of that there will be healing and God will help me each step of the way. Its only by His help that i make it each day.

Plod Along

We have been called on a mission by God, He wants us to reach the least and the lost among us, no one is to far gone from Jesus. How do we reach people? you might ask, we reach them as we go through each day being there for them in word and in deed, will we see results right away, by no means we just plant the seed and God waters it when He sees fit. We are each called to where we work, live, and play. God has placed us where we are for a purpose, and in peoples lives for a reason, will we always know what the purpose and the reason is by no means. God never tells us to give up though in those places and with those people.

We need to slow down and learn to walk with people through lifes pain and heartache, I find God gives me joy when i am walking with people through life, we were never meant to bear burdens alone, its fun doing life with people. Is life always going to be easy no! I have seen a lot of change this year moving out on my own, my dad getting married the holidays looking different, but as my best friend told me the other day when she was doing my dishes, take it a day at a time and you will make it through, she also lovingly told me to pull myself together which were words i needed to hear. Because lately with all thats changing i feel like i am getting left behind in the dust if i am being honest with myself, and it was making me feel sad. I am reminded that God is near so He knows how i feel. Jesus went through emotions like i do so he knows how i feel. He knows how you feel and he wants us to take life one day at a time trusting the journey he has us on. will it always be an easy ride?

No it wont always be easy there will be ups and downs and days of doubt, but God is right beside each of us and He gives us friends to do life with.

To My Best Friend

I hope these words speak to not just you but everyone who reads this, I know it seem like today might have been disatrous in every way but remember this the one who holds the world in His hands also holds you, when it feels like everything is crashing around you God is holding it all together, the devil would love for you to believe otherwise. But remember God speaks truth He loves you, and cares for you. God wants you to run into His embrace. God doesnt want you giving up He made you with His hands and He paid a high price for you He took a cross me and you deserved and had nails bore into His hands. His love is so much more than anyone can comprehend.

He wants to take care of your todays, tomorrows and everything in between, we never lose when we trust Jesus, we might have hard days but our future is secure and thats beautiful to put our trust and hope in, does that mean everyday is going to be easy by no means there will be days we feel like giving up and giving in to whatever is pulling us in. That is when we stand our ground and trust in the God who already won our battles, we should trust in Him all days but even more so when we feel like we cant go on.

Ode To Sandy Dog And my Bestie

Sandy you are the sweetest dog. You can make any human fall for you. You never are in a bad mood. You love to play, to eat and to sleep. You showed me how not to worry about things through your relaxation. You could be stubborn but you were oh so sweet. keep living your life. I am glad God let me have you for the time i had you, and i will forever be thankful to your mom who I admire i see the best in her and i know you do too i see it in the love you have for her shes your pack leader. Your mom might not think so but she is the best and she has helped me through a lot. i see the light of Jesus in your mom sandy. Your mom has so many good qualities that i love (i know she doesnt like me using that word) but i love seeing her passion and love for Jesus, i love seeing how much compassion she has towards others and animals. I love see ing her knowing what she wants to do in life, and i admire her for all shes been through the past year. she says shes not but she is brave and strong i see it in her. You have the best mom sandy.

Seasons Change our God never does!

Do you ever feel like the seasons come and go so quickly, think about it, it was just summer and now its fall. Seasons are like life, in life we will go through good times and we will have bad times but we have to remember that God never changes even when it seems like the world is going crazy around us and even when we have wars waging in our heart we have to remember that God is always there and He will always be there. I love the fall time because its cool and i love going to corn mazes its so nice getting outside in Gods creation. I look around at the trees and leafs and the mountains and i ask myself how could people say there is no God.

God will always be there for us if we let Him. He wants to walk with us through every season that comes our way. Dont let your circumstances or your job make you feel like your not worth it. God said you were worth it when He sent His Son Jesus to die for our sins. Lets remember He is with us in every season of life, wherever you may find yourself He is there with you.

Lying

Have you ever lied before? if you have stop! i have and i have seen how it hurts the one i love, plus its a sin and liars have no place in the kingdom of God. lying destroys trust in relationships and friendships, plus if you think your getting away with lying your not as my mom used to say the Lord knows all and sees all so always be truthful. Lying is a sin and your sin will always find you out in one of two ways either by you letting go and telling people or by being caught in a lie.

Let the Holy Spirit help you if you deal with lying cry out to God for help and His Holy Spirit will help you get better. He never leaves us where we are if we truly want to change. Being a truth teller is so freeing plus its what God would want, He wants people spreading the truth not people spreading lies. so lets strive together each day to let go of the sin inside of us of lying and let God lead us in being truth tellers. The truth shall set you free. Amen
